Watercolour Reindeer Card

Good afternoon fellow paper crafters.  I decided that as we are heading into our summer here in Australia, that I would make a summer themed Christmas Card.  I couldn't resist incorporating some watercolouring into it.

To make this card, start with your standard size card base 5 7/8 x 8 1/2 score at 4 1/4.  Cut a piece of DSP of choice (I used my favourite, item number 141981).  Cut this to 5 5/8 x 3 7/8 and also some watercolour paper (item number 122959) cut at 5 x 3 1/4.

The inks I have used are Old Olive, Soft Suede and Basic Black.  Stamp sets are Santa's Sleigh, Most Wonderful, Totally Trees and Merriest Wishes, all from the Holiday Catalogue.

I decided to coordinate the inside of the card with the card front.

I've talked a lot about how it's a good idea to try to coordinate all aspects of your cards.  I sometimes make a set of cards, similar (ie from the same cardstock, stamp set etc) and coordinate the inside and the envelope.  I then make a box for the cards and give them as gifts.

With this card,  I also decided to make an envelope.  To do that, use your envelope punch board and find the card measurement that coordinates with your card and cut your envelope paper accordingly.  In my case, I had to cut the paper at 8 1/2 x 8 1/2.

I then stamped the outside of the envelope with some of the same elements as I used on the outside and inside of the card.  It gives your cards a really professional finished look.
